OLD BUSINESS

The Street Committee reported that the Romsos Avenue project is done, except for the signage. Gary Strand is trying to get a meeting set up with the State, County, Village and himself to get the signage corrected. The other topics they went over were; the street sweeper is in for repairs again, the Safe Routes to School project is complete, the crew is working on fixing the washout on S. 8th Street. Jaden also informed the board that he has the ATV/UTV signage in his office and would like to know who is responsible to put them up. Someone will contact the officer (Jeff Wolfe) that appeared to request opening the Village up to all ATV/UTV’s to see if he will take care of the installation of the signs.

The Law Enforcement Committee met and discussed a couple of properties that they feel should be looked at for condemnation. The house at 1103 W. Main Street was recently purchased by Bruce Peterson who told Bill Koepp (building inspector), after showing Bill the property, that he thinks that he can fix it up. In Bill’s opinion, Bruce would not be able to fix it up in his lifetime. They also discussed the old feed mill on Main Street. Bill Koepp has tried to contact the current occupant, Dave Sorenson, but he has not returned his calls, and Bill has not seen any activity there in quit some time.  Committee member Dave Ebner recommended to start the condemnation process after discussing it with the Village attorney.
