VILLAGE OF CAMERON REGULAR BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2020

6:00 P.M.

            The Cameron Village Board met in regular session on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cameron Community Center.  Members present: Ben Hester, Tim Wall, Steve Johnson, Dave Ebner, Russ Hulback, Randy Hill, with Mark Trowbridge presiding.

 

            Also present: Jaden Ebert, Gary Strand and Bill Koepp.

 

            The minutes of the October 12, 2020 regular meeting were mailed out prior to the meeting. Steve Johnson moved to approve the minutes of the October 12, 2020 regular meeting as printed, second Dave Ebner.  Carried 7-0

 

            The November payables were presented in printed form.  Dave Ebner moved to approve the payment of the November payables, with additions as printed, second Ben Hester. Carried 7-0

 

APPEARANCES:

            Public Comment: There were no public comments.

            Bill Koepp reported that there are a few garages and one house still in construction along with a couple of remodels. Mitchell’s are still working on the large house on Main and 11th Street, but nothing is happening with the old elementary school at this time. Mark Trowbridge instructed Bill to get Floyd Mathews get his roof repaired and Wade Goss to get the trailers off his property. If need be a letter will be issued to Floyd and Wade from the Village attorney.

            Jaden Ebert submitted his written report and had nothing to add.

            Mike Lynch submitted his written report and was not in attendance.

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

            The Street Committee reported that the Romsos Avenue is on schedule and budget so it appears there will be enough loan funds left over to cover a portion of the Safe Routes to School Program (SRTS). The SRTS construction is slated to begin in May of 2021.

            Jaden Ebert supplied the board with a proposal from Fahrner Asphalt for some future street maintenance that will be used to help during the upcoming budget meetings.

            Mike Lynch submitted a quote from Swant Graber Motors to trade in the 2017 Silverado for a 2021 Ram SSV. The quote includes step bars and a spray-in bed liner, for a total purchase price of $30,499. The trade-in value of the Silverado is $28,000, brining the purchase price of the new squad down to $2,499.00. Steve Johnson moved to approve the trade-in the 2017 Silverado for a 2021 Ram SSV with step bars and spray-in bed liner at a cost of $2,499.00, second Russ Hulback. Carried 7-0

 

NEW BUSINESS

            Jaden brought the MEUW, (safety program) renewal contract back to the board for approval. Jaden had them verify that with the upcoming retirement of the MEUW employee that handles Cameron, that they will always have coverage. Jaden stated he was happy with the answer he received from MEUW. Dave Ebner moved to approve the three-year contract with MEUW to provide the safety program for the Village, second Ben Hester. Carried 7-0

            The Board will be meeting at 6:00pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 to hold a budget workshop.

 

At 6:47 there was unanimous consent to adjourn the meeting.
