VILLAGE OF CAMERON REGULAR BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, MARCH 9, 2020

            The Cameron Village Board met in regular session on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cameron Village Hall.  Members present: Steve Johnson, Tim Wall, Dave Ebner, Ben Hester, Russ Hulback, Randy Hill, with Mark Trowbridge presiding.

 

            Also present: Jaden Ebert, Mike Lynch, Jeremy Kell, Rodney Vergin and Gary Strand.

 

            The minutes of the February 10, 2020 regular meeting were mailed out prior to the meeting. Dave Ebner moved to approve the minutes of the February 10, 2020 regular meeting as printed, second Ben Hester.  Carried 7-0

 

            The March payables were presented in printed form.  Steve Johnson moved to approve the payment of the March payables, with additions as printed, second Ben Hester. Carried 7-0

 

APPEARANCES:

            Public Comment: There were no public comments.

            Bill Koepp was not in attendance.

            Jaden Ebert submitted his written report and added that he has been working with County to get up to date on everything necessary to get the Splash Pad opened and that the power at their shop will be off the morning of March 10th to allow Xcel Energy to run electricity to the pole shed. Jaden requested to replace the water fountain at Guy Spiers Park. Russ Hulback moved to approve the purchase of a new water fountain for Guy Spiers Park at a cost of $408, second Dave Ebner. Carried 7-0

            Mike Lynch submitted his written report and added that in April he is going to work on revising the ATV/UTV Ordinance.

            Rodney Vergin, representing the Barron Snow Bears, appeared with a proposed additional snowmobile route through the Village. The route would go through Guy Spiers Park, through the marsh area and hook up with the trail system at Highway 8 and 20th Street. Steve Johnson moved to approve the additional snowmobile route through the Village, provided they stay of the blacktop, second Randy Hill. Carried 7-0

 

Bartender license application for Brandi J. Ermilio and Tabitha S. Davis were presented for approval. Dave Ebner moved to approve the bartender license for Brandi J. Ermilio and Tabitha S. Davis provided all criteria have been met, second Ben Hester. Carried 7-0

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

            Russ Hulback presented a proposal from Meyers Electric for the installation of a generator at the Village Hall. The generator will have the capability of running everything in the Village Hall and garage. Steve Johnson moved to approve up to $18,908 for the purchase and installation of a 30Watt Cummins generator at the Village Hall, second Tim Wall. Carried 7-0

            Ben Hester got an offer of $1,500 for the stove at the Community Center from Travis Turner. Russ Hulback moved to approve selling the large gas stove at the Community Center to Travis Turner for $1,500 with the funds going to replace the stove and repair of the sound system at the Community Center, second Steve Johnson. Carried 7-0

 

NEW BUSINESS

             Jaden Ebert and the Park Committee would like the pine tree located in the northwest corner of Sportsman Park cut down, as it is too large to decorate anymore and parts of it are dead. Randy Hill moved to allow Jaden to cut down the pine tree located in the northwest corner of Sportsman Park, second Ben Hester. Carried 7-0

 

At 6:37pm a roll call was taken to go into closed session according to State Statute. 19:85 (1)(f) consideration of financial, medical, social or personal histories or disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific personnel problems or investigation of charges against specific persons that, if discussed in public, would be likely to have substantial adverse effect on reputation of any person mentioned in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations. Randy – Yes; Dave – Yes; Mark – Yes; Tim – Yes; Steve – Yes; Russ – Yes; Ben – Yes.

 

At 7:26 Steve Johnson moved to back into open session, second Dave Ebner. Carried 7-0

As there was no further business to attend to, at 7:27 Ben Hester moved to adjourn, second Dave Ebner. Carried 7-0
