OLD BUSINESS

Mark Trowbridge informed the board that the advertisement for seasonal help only netted two candidates, so the ad was run for another week, in which another two candidates applied. Without an applicant suitable for the position, it was decided to hire a high school boy for the summer.

NEW BUSINESS

Randy Hill and the Parks Committee wanted to recognize the following sponsors for “free admission” days to the Splash Pad: Mayo Clinic Health Systems is sponsoring three days this summer; Cameron Senior Citizen Group is sponsoring all Mondays in July; and Living Water Church is sponsoring all Wednesdays for this season, and Red Cedar Church is also planning on sponsoring a day. Randy also wanted to recognize the following for their donation of business cards for the library promotion for the splash pad: Northwest Honda, Aaron’s Custom, Casey Watters, Wade Family Eye Clinic, Amos Boxing, Safelite Auto Glass, West Central Graphics, Meyer International, Bush & Gilles Furniture, American Pride Furniture, and Sticks n Stones.

Randy Hill, chairperson for the Parks/Cemetery Committee stated that they are still waiting for the hardware for the new doors installed on the pavilion at Guy Spiers Park. Also the with the parking lot not being paved at Guy Spiers it caused the splash pad to have to be closed until they can clean the dirt that comes off the parking lot into the splash pad area, including changing the water in the tank.

Jim Turner, Street Committee chairperson reported that everything is running okay with the street crew, but they are looking forward to adding the seasonal worker to the staff.

Gary Strand updated the board on the Main Street project. Due to time constraints the project will have to be put off until 2018. Gary also stated that he believed We Energies was not going to replace the sidewalks they tore up on Main Street, but Mark Trowbridge reiterated that he had talked with someone from We Energies and it sounds like they will be using a cold patch type of blacktop (instead of concrete) just so it is smooth until it is replaced next year. Also, with the recent storms coming through it probably washed the lawn seed the contractors just put in, but he won’t do anything about this until the weather changes for the better.

As there was no other business to attend to, at 6:48 pm Jim Turner moved to adjourn the meeting, second Dave Ebner. Carried 6-0
