VILLAGE OF CAMERON REGULAR BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, APRIL 12, 2021

6:00 P.M.

            The Cameron Village Board met in regular session on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cameron Community Center.  Members present: Tim Wall, Ben Hester, Steve Johnson, Dave Ebner, Russ Hulback, Randy Hill, with Mark Trowbridge presiding.

 

            Also present: Jaden Ebert, Wade Goss, Tom Daniels, Ken Keef, Deputy Jeff Wolfe, Dylan Bahr, and Gary Strand.

 

            The minutes of the March 8, 2021 regular meeting and March 18, 2021 special meeting were mailed out prior to the meeting. Ben Hester moved to approve the minutes of the March 8, 2021 regular meeting and March 18, 2021 special meeting as printed, second Steve Johnson.  Carried 7-0

 

            The April payables were presented in printed form.  Russ Hulback moved to approve the payment of the April payables, with additions as printed, second Dave Ebner. Carried 7-0

 

APPEARANCES:

            Public Comment: There were no public comments.

            Bill Koepp was not in attendance due to recent surgery.

            Jaden Ebert submitted his written report and nothing to add.

            Mike Lynch submitted his written report and was at his conference in Superior.

            Deputy Jeff Wolfe from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department appeared to request Village approval to develop an ATV/UTV trail to connect the existing 21st Street trail to the South Soo Street trail.

            Ken Keef appeared to request approval to collect recyclable items when the Village has the Village wide clean up day on Saturday, May 8th. Ken is also willing to take televisions and batteries. Jaden said it would not affect what they do at the clean-up. Randy Hill moved to allow Ken Keef to collect recyclable at the May 8th Village wide clean-up day, second Tim Wall. Carried 7-0

            Wade Goss appeared on the boards request to get a status update of his property on West Poplar Avenue. Wade told the board that last year he couldn’t find any help due to the COVID-19 outbreak so he wasn’t able to recycle any of the mobile homes that he has. He has a few that will be hauled to a salvage yard in Glen Flora when the road bans go off. After discussion, Randy Hill moved to grant Wade Goss an extension on his Conditional Use Permit until November 8, 2021, if Wade has not gotten his mobile home inventory down to 10 or less by that date, his Conditional Use Permit will be null and void, second Steve Johnson. Carried 7-0

Denise Paddock submitted a written request for items for the 2021 Camerama.  As in previous years, the request asks for the use of the Sportsman’s Park from Thursday, June 3rd through Sunday, June 6, 2021 with the use of all facilities, a picnic license, bartender licenses, and no parking and limited parking on certain streets.  This year’s event will feature live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. There will also be a parade at noon on Sunday. Ben Hester moved to approve the written request submitted by Denise Paddock, second Dave Ebner. Carried 7-0

Tom Daniels appeared on behalf of the youth baseball organization. They have gotten figures on replacing the infield, which is a lime mix and replacing it with a true field mix. The field is unplayable a lot due to the lime holding moisture like a sponge. After some discussion it was decided to have the Parks/Cemetery Committee look at the proposals and make a recommendation to the full Village Board.

 

OLD BUSINESS

            The street committee wanted to report that there is a pre-construction meeting for the Safe Routes to School Project scheduled for Tuesday morning. They are also looking at the signage by the middle school because they think it is incorrect.

            Jaden Ebert submitted a proposal from Antczak Construction to prepare the finishing of the road to the driveway at 525 Thompson Terrace Dr. This includes shaping, cutting grading and paving to Village specifications, for a total cost of $4,725.00. Dave Ebner moved to accept Antczak Construction’s proposal of $4,725.00 to finish paving the road to the driveway at 525 Thompson Terrace Dr., second Steve Johnson. Carried 7-0

            Mark Trowbridge moved to deny the sewer backup claim received from Kayla Cwojdzinski at 201 E. Poplar Avenue, second Randy Hill. Carried 7-0

 

NEW BUSINESS

            A Certified Survey Map (CSM) was provided by Matt Shilts for an approximate one-acre lot on the south side of Romsos Ave. Steve Johnson moved to approve the new CSM on the south side of Romsos Ave. as presented, second Dave Ebner. Carried 7-0

            Dave Ebner moved to approve the sale of a 1.003-acre parcel of land in TID #1 on the south side of Romsos Avenue for $25,000.00 to Solution Heating and Cooling, with the Village paying the normal associated costs of being the seller, second Ben Hester. Carried 7-0

            Resolution 2021-001, a resolution to support a strong state and local partnership was presented for approval. Steve Johnson moved to approve Resolution 2021-001, a resolution to support a strong state and local partnership, second Ben Hester. Carried 7-0

             

At 7:15 there was unanimous consent to adjourn the meeting.
