OLD BUSINESS:

The Street Committee reported that all the permitting is ready in regards to starting the Safe Routes to School project as soon as possible this spring. Also, Dave Ebner talked with the State regarding Highway8/SS and was told that they are looking at stripping it like they did in Barron, by having one driving lane on each side and a common turning lane in the middle. They also talked about the stop lights and Dave suggested making it a four way stop, and the gentleman from the State said they feel there is enough room to put a round about there, but no definite decisions have been made.

NEW BUSINESS:

A Certified Survey Map (CSM) was provided by Matt Shilts to correct Romsos Avenue. Dave Ebner moved to approve the new CSM for Romsos Ave. as presented, second Russ Hulback. Carried 6-0

Mike Lynch submitted a request to purchase 4 Goodyear Winterforce snow tires for the Dodge squad car because the tires they have now are not good winter tires.             Mark Trowbridge and Steve Johnson have been working on updating the fees that are in the Code of Ordinances. Mark Trowbridge moved to send the prospective ordinance changes to the Village Attorney for drafting, second Steve Johnson. Carried 6-0

The Street Committee has been looking into trading the backhoe as it is costing about $4,000 per year to maintain. The only company willing to do a trade deal is CAT, but every time they find one that fits their needs it is sold before they can take it before the board for approval so they would like to authorize Jaden to approve the spending of up to $50,000 and trading in of old backhoe. They offer a full 4-year warranty on the purchase of a backhoe. Dave Ebner moved to authorize Jaden Ebert approve the purchase of a backhoe, along with trading of the old backhoe in with CAT, with the purchase not to exceed $50,000, second Steve Johnson. Carried 6-0

Dave Ebner wanted to discuss the Villages approach to the many property owners that are not cleaning their sidewalk. Dave talked with Kwik Trip, Mosaic and Cameron School District about it and the school district cleaned theirs right away. They are not the only ones that are negligent about keeping their sidewalks clear. After much discussion it was decided that the police department will be instructed to enforce the ordinance at their discretion. Property owners that have not cleaned their sidewalks 24 hours after cessation of a snowstorm, should be notified and if they don’t get it cleaned the Village will clean it and charge the owner for such snow removal.

At 6:45there was unanimous consent to adjourn the meeting.
