VILLAGE OF CAMERON REGULAR BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2020

6:00 P.M.

CAMERON COMMUNITY CENTER

            The Cameron Village Board met in regular session on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cameron Community Center.  Members present: Tim Wall, Steve Johnson, Dave Ebner, Russ Hulback, Randy Hill, with Mark Trowbridge presiding. Absent: Ben Hester.

 

            Also present: Jaden Ebert, Mike Lynch, Gary Strand and Bill Koepp.

 

            The minutes of the November 9, 2020 regular meeting, November 17th and November 30th special meetings were mailed out prior to the meeting. Dave Ebner moved to approve the minutes of the November 9, 2020 regular meeting, November 17th and November 30th special meetings as printed, second Tim Wall.  Carried 6-0

 

            The December payables were presented in printed form.  Randy Hill moved to approve the payment of the December payables, with additions as printed, second Russ Hulback. Carried 6-0

 

APPEARANCES:

            Public Comment: There were no public comments.

            Bill Koepp reported that there is not a lot of building going on at this time, a few remodel projects, but there still is nothing going on with the old elementary school at this time. Bill also stated that a builder has purchased all of the lots that Wayne Haglin owned in the Village and he plans to build on them soon.

            Jaden Ebert submitted his written report and had nothing to add.

            Mike Lynch submitted his written report and had nothing to add.

 

OLD BUSINESS

            The street committee reported that the Romsos Avenue is done for this year, with a few minor things plus the blacktopping to be completed next year. They also discussed looking into replacing the backhoe. Gary Strand assured the committee that the Village will not be billed by Cooper Engineering anymore for the Safe Routes to School project.

            When Matt Shilts did the survey of the property purchased from Sue and Lee Romsos, he found that the survey peg on the northwest corner of the lot falls in the blacktop. Steve Johnson advised to hire Matt to do a new CSM to clean up this issue so it won’t be a problem in the future. Dave Ebner moved to hire Matt Shilts to clean up the CSM on the Romsos Avenue property in the amount of $800, second Mark Trowbridge. Carried 6-0

 

NEW BUSINESS        

Resolution 2020-004, a resolution to authorize amendments in the 2020 Village of Cameron budget was presented for approval. Randy Hill moved to approve Resolution 2020-004 as presented, second Steve Johnson. Carried 6-0

The caucus was set for Monday, January 13, 2021 at 5:45 pm.

Jaden Ebert informed the board that the Soo Avenue lift station is down to one pump due to some rotted out piping. Jaden got an estimate from Quality Flow in the amount of $8,500 - $9,000 to rectify the problem. Mar Trowbridge moved to approve hiring Quality Flow to fix the Soo Avenue lift station, with the cost not to exceed $10,000, second Russ Hulback. Carried 6-0

 

At 6:24 there was unanimous consent to adjourn the meeting.
