VILLAGE OF CAMERON REGULAR BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, JUNE 10, 2019

            The Cameron Village Board met in regular session on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cameron Village Hall. Members present: Steve Johnson, Russ Hulback, Randy Hill, Tim Wall, with Mark Trowbridge presiding. Absent: Dave Ebner and Ben Hester.

 

            Also present: Jaden Ebert, Mike Lynch, Bill Koepp, Chuck Bellows, Wanda Bellows, Steve Hurst, Alex Benko and Amy Kelsey.

 

Prior to the board meeting, a public hearing was held a public hearing for the Community Development Block Grant-Public Facilities (CDBG-PF), for the reconstruction of N. 11th Street. Amy Kelsey from Cooper Engineering

 

           The minutes of the May 13, 2019 regular meeting were mailed out prior to the meeting. Russ Hulback moved to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2019 regular meeting as printed, second Tim Wall. Carried 5-0

 

            The June payables were presented in printed form. Tim Wall moved to approve the payment of the June payables and additions as printed, second Steve Johnson. Carried 5-0

 

APPEARANCES:

           Public Comment: There were no public comments.     

            Bill Koepp reported that there is a pole type home going in on Babe’s Lane. Floyd Mathews brought in engineered plans to repair his structure on W. Poplar. Also, Wade Goss has been moving ahead with dismantling trailers on the old Ebner Box Factory site. Mark Trowbridge requested that Bill have Mr. Goss appear before the board to inform the board on the status of his conditional use permit.

            Jaden Ebert submitted his written report and added that on June 9th there was a sewer backup that affected two homes. The main had a large grease ball that they had to jet out of the line. Jaden also reported that the tree service company should be taking down the trees Sportsman Park within the next week or so.

            Mike Lynch submitted his written report and added that his has a radar unit and a computer that are nearing the end of their useful life and he is checking on prices for replacements.

            Steve Hurst, attorney for Sweet Addition Ingredient Processors (SAIP) gave an update on their progress of lowering their BOD’s they are putting into the Village sanitary sewer system. Steve reported that their numbers continue to be going down. Steve also stated that the digestor in Turtle Lake may be shutting down, which could be a problem for SAIP because they have been hauling a lot of their wastewater over there.

 

Cigarette license applications were presented for renewal: Roush’s Sidetrack, Kwik Trip Inc., and Amwest, Inc. (BP Amoco). Russ Hulback moved to approve the cigarette licenses, second Mark Trowbridge. Carried 5-0

 

Liquor license applications were presented for renewal: Class B Combination: Cameron House, Ben & Maggie’s Town Pump, Roush’s Sidetrack, The Webb, L.L.C., Class A Combination: Northwoods Liquor, Kwik Trip Inc. Class “B” Beer: Stone Oven Pizzeria. Class “A” Beer: Amwest, Inc. (BP Amoco   Russ Hulback moved to approve the issuance of the liquor license, second Tim Wall. Carried 5-0

Provisional bartender license application was presented for approval for Tanisha S. O’Brien. Russ Hulback moved to approve the issuance of the provisional bartender license provided all criteria have been met, second Steve Johnson. Carried 5-0

 

Dance license applications for Roush’s Sports Bar, Cameron House and The Webb were presented for approval. Russ Hulback moved to approve the issuance of the dance license, second Tim Wall. Carried 5-0

 

OLD BUSINESS

            There was no old business.

 

NEW BUSINESS

            The Street Committee met and discussed the quotes for chip sealing, crack filling and a quote to add a transfer switch and generator receipt to shop and run power to the shed at the Village Garage.

            Steve Johnson moved to accept the proposal from Fahrner Asphalt to apply GSB-88 6th Street from Main to Kruger, Arlington Avenue from 7th to 4th St, and Shining Star/N. 2nd St to south end of the schools property, at a cost of 18,647.20, second Tim Wall. Carried 5-0

            Steve Johnson moved to accept the proposal from Fahrner Asphalt to crack seal Arlington Avenue from 7th to 4th St., Shining Star/N. 2nd St to south end of the school property, and Clayton/N. 7th St from 15th Ave to Haglin Ave., at a cost of $13,119.00, second Russ Hulback. Carried 5-0

            Russ Hulback moved to accept the proposal from Meyers Electric to add a transfer switch and generator receipt to shop and run power to the shed at the Village Garage at a cost of $6,040.00, second Steve Johnson. Carried 5-0
